Chanel's Sweet Potato Pie
Sweet potato pie is my favorite dessert during the holidays. This recipe is fairly easy and uses The Ultimate Cake Spice by My Fabulous Food. I created a beautiful braided crust and will include the link to an easy step by step video below. Enjoy!
Cooking Time/Preparation: 2 hours
Yields: 1 deep pie or 2 shallow pies
4 ounces of salt-free sweet cream butter, softened
2 cups of cooked and mashed sweet potatoes (usually two large sweet potatoes)
1 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
5 ounces of evaporated milk
1/2 cup of sweetened condensed milk
3 eggs beaten
1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract
1 1/2 teaspoon of The Ultimate Cake Spice by My Fabulous Food
1 deep dish pie shell or 2 shallow pie shells
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
In a stand mixer (I use Kitchenaid) or large bowl, mix butter, sweet potatoes, sugar, and both types of milk. Blend well.
Next, add beaten eggs, vanilla extract, and The Ultimate Cake Spice.
Pour mixture into pie shell(s).
Bake for 1 hour or until set. Let pie cool for 30 minutes.
